let bigger number is x
and smaller number is y
so,
x+y=50
and
x/y=7/11
x=7y/11
substituting value of x in first equation,
(7y/11)+y=50
7y+11y=550
18y=550
y=275/9
so,
x=7•275/9•11
and smaller number is y
so,
x+y=50
and
x/y=7/11
x=7y/11
substituting value of x in first equation,
(7y/11)+y=50
7y+11y=550
18y=550
y=275/9
so,
x=7•275/9•11

Answer:
x = 175/9 and y = 275/9
Step-by-step explanation:
let the numbers be x, y
gn: x + y = 50
so the numbers are x, 50 - x( ie y = 50-x ) ---------1
now,
x/50-x = 7/11
11x = 7(50-x)
11x = 350 - 7x
11x + 7x = 350
18x = 350
x = 350/18 = 175/9
from equ 1
y = 50 - x
y = 50 - 175/9
y = (450 - 175)/ 9 by take LCM = 9
y = 275/9
x = 175/9 and y = 275/9
I hope this will be helpful :)
