Let one number be x and other number be y.

Then, 10% x = 8% y

x/10 = 2y/25

5x - 4y = 0 --> ( i )

Also, x + y = 5040

x = 5040 - y

Putting in (i), 9y = 25200

y = 2800

Now, x = 5040 - 2800

x = 2240

Numbers are 2240 and 2800.
