let one number be x and other be y

x + y = 64(given)

y= x-16(eq1)

x+(x-16) = 64

2x = 64 + 16 = 80

x=80/2

therefore, x = 40 and y = (40 - 16)= 24

X= 40 y= 24

Answer:

1ST NUMBER = 40

2ND NUMBER = 24

=} 2X - 16 = 64

=} 2X = 64 + 16

=} 2X = 80

=} X = 80

2
