Step-by-step explanation:

Let one no. be x

Then the other no. =69-x

By the problem,

69-x-x=17

=>69-17=x+x

=>52=2x

=>x=52÷2

=>x=26

So, one no. is 26

And the other no. is 69-26

=43

Let , the two numbers be x and y

So ,

x + y = 69 ------------ eq (1)

and

x - y = 17 ------------ eq (2)

Add equation (1) and (2) , we obtain

 \sf \hookrightarrow x + y + (x - y) = 69 + 17 \\  \\  \sf \hookrightarrow</p><p>2x = 86 \\  \\  \sf \hookrightarrow </p><p>x = 43

Put the value of x = 43 in equation (1) , we obtain

 \sf \hookrightarrow 43 + y = 69 \\  \\  \sf \hookrightarrow</p><p>y = 69 - 43 \\  \\  \sf \hookrightarrow </p><p>y = 26

Hence , the required numbers are 43 and 26 respectively
