Sum of the number =x+y=8
=x=8−y...(i)
Difference of the number =x−y=2...(ii)
Put x=8−y in eq..(ii)
=8−y−y=2
=−2y=−6
∴y=3
x=8−y=8−3=5
First number =5
Second number =3
