given ,

x + y = 8

x + y = 4 [ x - y ]

x + y = 4x - 4y

8 = 4 [ x - y ]

2 =  x - y

x - y = 2

x  + y = 8

========

2x = 10

ANSWER❣❣↙️↙️

Let the numbers be X and y

Now, According to question,

X+y=8....(1)

X-y=4(X+y)

X-y=4(8)

X-y=32.....(2)

from eq.1

X=8-y.....(3)

Substitute this value in eq.(2)

8-y-y=32

8-2y=32

-2y=32-8

y=-24/2=-12

Substitute this value in(3)

X=8-(-12)

X=8+12=20

X=20 and y=-12

HOPE IT HELPS YOU✨✨✌✌
