Let, the one number be X 

So, other number is (80-X)

Now, according to given condition 

3X = 5(80-X)

=> 3X = 400 - 5X

=> 8X = 400

=> X = 400/8

=> X = 50

According to the question :


3 times of ( x ) = 5 times of ( 80 - x )


=> 3x = 5( 80 - x )

=> 3x = 400 - 5x

=> 8x = 400

$=> x = \frac{400}{8}$
=> x = 50






Hence, numbers are :

x = 50
80 - 50 = 30
