Here is your answer :-

Sum of two numbers = 90

Let the smaller number be x.

Then, greater number = (90-x)

It is given that, greater number exceeds thrice the smaller by 14.

A/q,

➡ 3(x) + 14 = 90 - x

➡ 3x + x = 90 - 14

➡ 4x = 76

➡ x = 76/4

➡ x = 19.

Answer :-

➡ Smaller number = x = 19

➡ Greater number = (90-x) = (90-19) = 71.

Hope it will help you !!!

Hi ,

Let x , ( 90 - x ) two numbers ,

According to the problem given ,

Greater number exceeds thrice the

smaller by 14

x - 2( 90 - x ) = 14

x - 180 + 2x = 14

3x = 14 + 180

3x = 194

x = 194/3

x = 64.

Therefore ,

Required two numbers are
greater no =64 ,
Smaller number = 90 - x

= 90 - 64

= 24

I hope this helps ya
