The sum of two numbers is 95. If their difference is 35, then the smaller number is?​

Let \: two \: numbers \: are \: x \: and \: y.

From question, x+y=95 ........(i)

x-y = 35 ...........(ii)

Now, adding (i) and (ii)

x+y+x-y = 95+35

or, 2x = 130

or, x = 130/2 = 65

Now, From (i), y = 95-x = 95-65 = 30

Thus, smaller number is 30.
