Let the two numbers be x and y,

x + y = 98. (1)
x - y = 10. (2)

(1) + (2), we get,
x = 54

(1) - (2), we get,
y = 44

Hope this helps... plsss make it the brainliest

Let the two numbers be ‘x’ and ‘y’

The equation will be

x + y = 98 - - - - (i) \\ x - y = 10 - - - -( ii)
Eliminate x

Subtract eq(ii) from eq(i).

x + y = 98 \\ x - y = 10 \\ - \: \: \: + \: \: \: -
_____________
 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: 2y = 88 \\ \: \: \: \: \: \: \: y = \frac{88}{2} \\ \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: y = 44

Put the value of y in eq(ii)

x - y = 10 \\ x - 44 = 10 \\ x = 10 + 44 \\ x = 54

So, the two numbers are 44 and 54
