x+y=0.—(1)

11x+6y=2—(2)

from 1

x=-y put it in (2)

then

11x-6x=2

5x=2

x=2/5

then from (1)

x=-y

y=-2/5

Let the smaller number be x and smaller number be y.

According to the question,

x+y=0——————(1)

11x+6y=2————-(2)

Multiply equation (1) with 6 on both sides and then divide equation (2) from equation (1).

(After multiplying). 6x+6y=0

11x+6y=2

==> -5x=-2

==> x=2/5

Putting value of x in equation (1).

x+y=0

==> 2/5+y=0

==> y= -2/5

The two numbers are 2/5 and -2/5.
