ATQ (According To Question)
Sum of the two numbers = 56
⇒ $x+(x+2)=56$
⇒ $x+x+2=56$
⇒ $2x+2=56$
Subtracting 2 from both sides. 
$2x+2-2=56-2$
⇒ $2x=54$
Dividing both sides by 2. 
$\frac{2x}{2}=\frac{54}{2}$
⇒ $x=27$

Now, 
First number = $x$ = 27
Second number = $(x+2)$ = (27 + 2) = 29

∴ The two required numbers are 27 and 29.
