Question ::-.

The sum of two positive numbers is 29 and their difference is 17. Find the two numbers.

Solution ::-

• Let the two numbers be a , b

• sum of two positive numbers is 29

= a + b = 29

= a = 29 - b -----------1

• their difference is 17

= a - b = 17 -------------2

By adding equation 1 in 2 , we get

= a - b = 17

= 29 - b - b = 17

= -2b = 17 - 29

= -2b = -12

= b = -12/-2

= b = 6

_______________

= a - b = 17

= a - 6 = 17

= a = 23

_________

  • value of a = 23
  • Value of b = 6

Answer:

23 ,6

Step-by-step explanation:

let the number's are x and y

no 1 equation is,

x + y = 29

no 2 equation is ,

x - y = 17

sum of two equation is,

2x = 46

x = 23

put the valu of x in equation no 1

y = 29 - 23

= 6
