hi rohitr2270

here is ur answer

let the other number be y

then accordingly

x+y=10 (equation 1)

and xy=72 (equation 2)

x=10-y(equation 3)

putting equation 3 in equation 2 we get

(10-y)y=72

10y-y^2=72

y^2-10y-72=0

lets check whether it has real roots or not

b^2-4ac=(-10^2)-4(*1)*(-72)

100 +288=388

therefore this equation has two distinct real roots

as u said for a quadratic equation y^2-10y-72=0 is the required quadratic equation
