=> x = $\frac{2+2\times7}{7}$

=> x = $\frac{2+14}{7}$

=> x =  $\frac{16}{7}$

∴ The other rational number is $\frac{16}{7}$.

L.H.S.

=> x + (-2)

=> x - 2  

=> $\frac{16}{7}$ - 2

=> $\frac{16-2\times7}{7}$

=> $\frac{16-14}{7}$
