Answer:

1) let the other number be x

  ATQ,

  -4/15 + x = -8/9

   x = -8/9 - (-4/15)

   x = -8/9 + 4/15

   x = [(-8/9) x 5] + [(4/15) x 3]      {LCM = 45}

   x = -40/45 + 12/45

   x = -28/45

The other number is -28/45.

2) 3/2*(12/36 + 20/2)

= 3/2* (1/3 + 10)  [simplyfying all fractions]

= 3/2* [(1/3 x 1) + (10 x 3)]  {LCM = 3}

= 3/2* (1/3 + 30/3)

= 3/2 * 31/3

= 93/6

= 31/2

This is your final answer.

Hope this helps...
