the sum of two rational number is 13 by 5 one of them is 22 by 5 find the second number

One rational number is 22/5

and the sum of the two numbers is 13/5

Let the other number be x

therefore,

22/5 + x = 13/5

x = 13 /5 - 22 /5

x = -9/5

thus the other rational number is

-9 / 5

 \frac{22 + 5x}{5} = \frac{13}{5}

5(22 + 5x) = 65

110 + 25x = 65

25x = 65 - 110

x = - \frac{45}{25}
