Hello !!

Let other rational number be X.

Sum of two rational numbers = -2

-14/5 + X = -2

-14 + 5X = - 10

5X = ( -10 + 14 )

X = 4/5.

Other rational number = X = 4/5.

Given,

The sum of two rational numbers is -2.

To Find,

If one of the numbers is -14/5, find the other.

Solution,

We can solve the question as follows:

It is given that the sum of two rational numbers is -2. If one of the numbers is -14/5, find the other one.

Sum\: of\: two\: rational\: numbers = -2

One\: of\: the\: numbers = -\frac{14}{5}

Let the other number be equal to x.

Therefore,

x + (-\frac{14}{5} ) = -2

Solving the above equation to find the value of x,

x - \frac{14}{5} = -2

Taking -14/5 to the other side,

x = -2 + \frac{14}{5}

x = \frac{-10 + 14}{5}

x = \frac{4}{5}

Hence, the other number is 4/5.
