Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

OKAY , SO THE UNKHOWN NUMBER WE WILL TAKE IT AS 'X'

NOW LET US FORM THE EQUATION

TWO RATIONAL NUMBERS SUM = -2

or, x + (-14/5) = -2

or, x -14/5 = -2

or, x = -2 + 14/5

or, x = ( -2*5 + 14 ) / 5

or, x = (-10 + 14) / 5

or, x = 4/5 ( THE ANOTHER NUMBER IS 4/5)

SO LETS RECHECK WHETHER I HAVE DONE IT CORRECTLY OR NOT ;

4/5 + (-14/5)

4/5  - 14/5

-10/5

-2 ( ANSWER VERIFIED)

AS IN THE QUESTION IT IS TOLD THAT THE SUM OF TWO RATIONAL NUMBERS IS -2 . AND HERE WE HAVE VERIFIED IT . THE UNKHOWN NUMBER IS 4/5

let the missing no be x

according to the question

x + -14/5 = -2

x= -2 +14/5 = -10+14/5 = 4/5

x= 4/5

hence the no is 4/5 = 0.8
