the sum of two rational number is -2 if one of them is -14/5 find the other

Let the other required rational number be x.

According to the question,

x+(-14/5)= -2

(5x-14)/5= -2

5x-14= -10

5x= 4

x=4/5

Hence,the correct value will be 4/5.
