the sum of two rational number is 3. if one of the number is -10/3, find the numerator of other number?

-10/3 + _ = 3

_ = 3 - (-10/3)

_ = 3 + (10/3)

_ = 19/3

so the number to be added is 19/3

One of them (let x and other be y)=-10/3

To Find:

Numerator of other =?

Solution:

x+y=3......... (Given)

-10/3+y=3..

y=3+10/3

y=9+10/3

y=19/3

So numerator of other is 19.
