Given :-

  • The sum of two rational number is -3.
  • One of the numbers is - 11/6

To Find :-

  • Find the other number.

Solution :-

~Here, we’re given the sum of two rational numbers and one of those rational numbers. We need to find the other rational number, we can assume the other number and form an equation according to the question. After solving that equation we’ll get the value of other number.

_____________

★ Let the other number be ‘x’

Finding the other number :-

\sf \dashrightarrow \bigg\{ \dfrac{-11}{6} \bigg\} + \{ x \} = -3

\sf \dashrightarrow x = -3 - \bigg\{ \dfrac{-11}{6} \bigg\}

\sf \dashrightarrow x = -3 + \dfrac{11}{6}

\sf \dashrightarrow x = \dfrac{-18+11}{6}

\boxed{\sf{ \bigstar \;\; \;\dahsrightarrow x = \dfrac{-7}{6}}}

_____________

Hence,

  • The other rational number is -7/6
