the sum of two rational number is -5. If one of the number is -13/6 , find the other.

Let x and y be two rational numbers . so x+y= -5 . let x= -13/6 . now put the value in above equation and solve for y .

-13/6 + x = -5
-13+6x = -30
6x = -30+13
x = -17/6
