let the two no. s be a/b and P/q

if a/B+p/q = 8/7 and a/B =1/14 then

1/14+p/q = 8/7

p/q = 8/7-1/14

p/q = (16-1) /14

p/q= 15/14

therefore the other rational no. is 15/14
