The sum of x & 5/6 is given as - 1/2

So we get equation

x + 5/6 = - 1/2

x = - 1/2 - 5/6

x = - 3 - 5 /6

x = - 8/6

x = - 4/3

So other number is - 4/3

x + 5/6 = -1/2

x = -1/2 -5/6

Taking LCM (LCM = 6)

x = (-3 - 5)/6

x = -8/6

x = -4/3


now,

the numbers are   5/6   and -4/3
