take x as a second no.

x + (-3/2) =8

x =8- (-3/2)

8 -(3/2)

8 and 2 will be cancelled

=4 -(-3)

=7

Given one rational number = -3/2

Let other rational number be x

Sum of two rational numbers is 8 ,

→ -3/2 + x = 8

→ x = 8 + 3/2

→ x = 19/2

So , Other rational number is 19/2

Verification :

→ -3/2 + 19/2

→ 16/2

→ 8
