The sum of two rational numbers is -2 . If one of the numbers is -14 /5 , find the other.

and x + -14/5 = -2.

Solution:-

x + ( \frac{ - 14}{5} ) =  - 2 \\  \\ x -  \frac{14}{5}  =  - 2 \\  \\  \frac{5x - 14}{5}  =  - 2 \\  \\ 5x - 14 =  - 10 \\ 5x =  - 10 + 14 \\ 5x = 4 \\ x =  \frac{4}{5}

If x = 4/5,

Hence, Other Rational no. is 4/5.
