the sum of two rational numbers is -2. if one of the numbers is minus - 14 by 5 find the other

let the other number be x

x + ( -14/5) = -2

x = -2 - ( -14/5)

x = -2 + 14/5

x = 4/5

➡ x + (-14/5) = -2

➡ x - (14/5) = -2

➡ x = (-2) + (14/5)

➡ x = 4/5
