Step-by-step explanation:

Sum if two rational numbers is : -3/5

One number is -9/20

Other number is: ??

Solution

Let the other number be x

Then

-9/20 + x = -3/5

x = -3/5 + 9/20

By LCM

x = (-12+9)/20

x = -3 /20

Well -3/20 is other number

Verify

-9/20 + -3/20 = -3/5

LHS

By LCM

((-9)+(-3))/20 =

-12/20 = -3/5

by Simplify-12/20 ÷ 4/4 = -3/5

-3/5 = -3/5

Hence, It is proved that LHS = RHS
