Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number be x

Therefore, ACC to Question, we have:

3/20+X=4/5

or,X=4/5-3/20=13/20

or,X=13/20

Hence, the other number is 13/20

GIVEN :-

  • Sum of two rational number is 4/5.

  • If one of them is 3/20.

TO FIND :-

  • The other rational number.

SOLUTION :-

Let the other rational number be x

A.T.Q

=> 3/20 + x = 4/5

=> x = 4/5 - 3/20

=> x = 16/20 - 3/20

=> x = ( 16 - 3 )/20

=> x = 13/20

Hence the other rational number is 13/20.

VERIFICATION :-

=> Sum of two rational number = 4/5

Taking L.H.S

= 3/30 + 13/20

= (13+3)/20

= 16/20

=4/5

Taking R.H.S

= 4/5

L.H.S = R.H.S

HENCE VERIFIED
