Sum of two rational numbers= \large \: \frac{4}{9}

One of the rational numbers= \large \:  \frac{ - 3}{11}

Let the other rational number be x

 \sf \large \frac{ - 3}{11}  + x =  \frac{4}{9}  \\  \\  \sf \implies \: x =  \frac{4}{9}   -  \frac{3}{11}

Take L.C.M. to make the denominators same.

L.C.M. of 9 and 11=99

 \implies \frac{4}{9}  \times  \frac{11}{11}  =  \frac{44}{99}  \\  \\  \implies \frac{3}{11}   \times  \frac{9}{9}  =  \frac{27}{99}  \\  \\  \implies \frac{44  -  27}{99}  =   \frac{17}{99}

So the other name is  \large \frac{17}{99}

Answer:

given

sum of two rational numbers are 4/9

one of them is -3/11

let another number be x

we know that

x+(-3/11)=4/9

x-3/11=4/9

x =4/9+3/11

x=71/99
