Solutions :-

Given :
Sum of two rational numbers = -5/12
One number = -8/21

Let the other number be x

A/q

=> x + -8/21 = -5/12
=> x = -5/12 + 8/21
=> x = (-35 + 32)/84
=> x = -3/84 = -1/28

Hence,
The other rational number = -1/28

let the no.be x
then
x + ( - 8 \div 21) =  - 5 \div 12
x =  \frac{ - 5}{12}  +  \frac{8}{21}
Lcm =84
then
 \frac{ - 5 \times 7  + 8 \times 4}{84}  =   \frac{ - 3}{84 }  =  \frac{ - 1}{28}
