Let the other no. be x.

x + (-15/7) = -8

x = -8 + 15/7

x = (-56 + 15)/7

x = -41/7

Therefore,the other rational number is -41/7.

Answer:

The other rational number =  \frac{-41}{7}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Sum of two rational numbers = -8

One number is \frac{-15}{7}

To find,

The second rational number

Solution:

Let 'x' be the required rational numbers

Then, the two rational numbers are 'x' and \frac{-15}{7}

Since the sum of these two rational numbers is -8. we have

x +  \frac{-15}{7} = -8

x = -8 -( \frac{-15}{7})

x = -8 + \frac{15}{7}

x = \frac{-56+15}{7}

x = \frac{-41}{7}

∴ The other rational number =  \frac{-41}{7}
