Let the rational number be

 \frac{1}{x} and \:  \frac{1}{y}

according to question

 \frac{1}{x}  +  \frac{1}{y}  =  -  \frac{3}{7} -  -  -  - (1)

 \frac{1}{x }  = -   \frac{5}{8}  \\ 8 =  - 5x    \\ x =  -  \frac{8}{5}  -  -  -  - (2)

now put the value of x in equation (1)

 -   \frac{8}{5}  +  \frac{1}{y}  =  \frac{ - 3}{7}

 \frac{1}{y }  =  \frac{ - 3}{7}  +  \frac{8}{5 }  \\

taking L.C.M

 \frac{1}{y}  =  \frac{41}{35}

then

y =  \frac{35}{41}

hope it help ❣
