AnsWer :

41/10.

Correct QuestioN :

The sum of two rational two rational number is 13/5. If one of them is - 3/2, Find the other rational number.

SolutioN :

Let,

  • The other rational number be x.

A/Q,

 \tt  : \implies  \dfrac{ - 3}{2}  + x =  \dfrac{ 1 3}{5}  \\

 \tt  : \implies x =  \dfrac{ 13}{5}  +  \dfrac{3}{2}

Taking LCM, Here.

 \tt  : \implies x =  \dfrac{ 26 + 15}{10}  \\

 \tt  : \implies x =  \dfrac{ 41}{10}   \\

Therefore , the other rational number is x = 41/ 10.

VerificatioN :

  • The sum of two rational two rational number is 13/5.

 \tt  : \implies \dfrac{41}{10}  +   \dfrac{ - 3}{2}  =  \dfrac{13}{5}

 \tt  : \implies \dfrac{41  - 15}{10}  =  \dfrac{13}{5}

 \tt  : \implies \dfrac{26}{10}    =  \dfrac{13}{5}

 \tt  : \implies \dfrac{13}{5}=  \dfrac{13}{5}

Hence Proved.
