Let AA be a ring and u,v∈A×u,v∈A×. When do we have that u+v∈A×u+v∈A×?

I think that A is needed to be an integral domain. For example consider Z/6Z/6. Both 11 and 55 is a unit but their sum 1+5=01+5=0 is not a unit.
