The sum of weight of an iron piece and a copper piece is 1280 g. The volume of the Copper piece is twice that of the iron piece . If the weight of 1 Cu . cm of Iron is 7.8 g and that of Copper is 8.9g , find the Volume of each piece.​

Let the amount of iron piece be x

Amount of Copper piece=2x

Density of iron=7.8g/cc

Density of copper=8.9g/cc

Weight of iron=7.8x

Weight of copper=17.8x

Total weight=1280g

7.8x+17.8x=1280

25.6x=1280

x=50

Weight of iron=7.8×50=390g

Weight of copper=890g

Volume of iron=390/7.8=50ml

Volume of copper=890/8.9=100ml
