Step-by-step explanation:

kx²-3x+1

 \frac{ - b -  \sqrt{b ^{2} - 4ac } }{2a}

here a=k,b=3,c=1

  \frac{ - 3 -  \sqrt{3 ^{2} - 4k(1) } }{2(k)}  = 1

 - 3 -  \sqrt{ {3}^{2} - 4k }   = 2k

 -  \sqrt{ {3}^{2} - 4k }  = 2k - 3

squaring on both sides

 {( -  \sqrt{ {3}^{2} - 4k } } \: )^{2}  =  {(2k - 3)}^{2}
