Answer: The present age of son is 7 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the present age of a father and his son be a and b .

According to the question,

x + y = 36

x = 36 - y       Equation (1)

Due to God's grace both lives for p years.

After p years their ages,

Father's age = x + p

Son's age = y + p

Sum of their ages = 80

x + p + y + p = 80

x + y + 2p = 80       Equation (2)

36 + 2p = 80      { From equation (1)}

2p = 80 - 36

2p = 44

p = 44/2

p = 22

As we know that son's age after 22 years is equal to father's present age,

y + p = x

y + 22 = 36 - y

y + y = 36 - 22

2y = 14

y = 14/2

y = 7

Put the value of y in equation (1),

x = 36 - 7

x = 29

I hope this answer is helpful for you.
