The summary of the poem Tansen by Hazrat Inayat khan.

The poem Tansen is written by the famous poet Hazrat Inayat Khan . The poet has described the teacher-student relationship between Tansen and Akbar and about the different Raags Like Deepak Raag, Malhar Raag and malkauns Raag with the help of the medium of music.

The poem shows how Akbar appreciates one of his chief jewels Tansen for his beautiful singing and gave him precious gems. Then ,one day when Tansen sang Deepak Raag his body started burning like a pyre.To comfort him and safe his life a maiden came and sang the song of cold water, the Malhar Rang and Tansen became well.

Akbar told Tansen that he wanted to meet his Majestic teacher but Tansen told Akbar that his teacher lives in Himalayas and  he refuses to meet  kings. So, King Akbar and Tansen dressed up in poor people's clothes and went to the teacher .The teacher Sang Raag malkauns all ecstatic, all the birds and beasts came to listen this song but when Akbar began To Praise the teacher the teacher vanished away. When Akbar asked Tansen that could he sing the same, Tansen told that he can't because the teacher  sang for God and Tansen sang for Akbar.
