RK Narayanan hated travelling on vehicles and loved walking. In his essay '
Testament of a Walker', he regrets having bought a vehicle.
He opposed walking as a sport and declared long distance walkers as a
terror. He openly admitted that except writing, his only other favourite
activity was walking down the streets of Mysore.
In this essay he explains the joyful experience of listening to interesting
comments and watching special scenes almost everyday.
