ANSWER:

  • Altitude (height) of Trapezium = 12 cm

GIVEN:

  • Sum of parallel sides of a trapezium is 25 cm
  • Area of trapezium = 150 cm².

TO FIND:

  • Altitude of trapezium.

SOLUTION:

Formula

area \: of \: trapezium \:  =  \frac{1}{2} (sum \: of \: parallel \: side) \:  \times height

Putting the values we get;

 \implies \: 150 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 25 \times height \\  \\  \implies \: 150 =  \frac{25}{2}  \times height \\ \\   \implies \: 150 \times  \frac{2}{25}  = height \\  \\  \implies \: height \:  = 12 \: cm

So Altitude (height) of Trapezium = 12 cm

NOTE:

some important formulas:

  • Area of parallelogram = Base * Altitude
  • Area of rhombus = (Base * Altitude ) OR

 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times (product \: of \: their \: diagonal)
