in order to find the change in time period of rotation we need figure out what’s the change in angular velocity.

Let's use i,w,r and I, W,R to denote the moment of inertia ,angular velocity and radius before and after the transformation.

Now applying conservation of angular momentum(L)

iw=IW

Now moment of inertia of a sphere is 2/5 r^2

Here since mass remains same , we can say moment of inertia is proportional to radius^2

Therefore , W/w= i/I

W/w=(r/R)^2

Substituting R=2r

We get W = w/4

ie the angular velocity became one- fourth the initial value.

Now Time period , T/t =(2*3.14/W) /(2*3.14/w)

This will give T =4t.

ie Time period will quadriple.

The sun will take 108 days to rotate around it's axis if it's radius doubles.
