Past continuous tense is representing the action or activity that had begun in the past and is still going on at the time of speaking.


It is formed by using two components – the verb –be( in past tense- was, were) pand the –ING form of a main verb.

1. The sun rises in the east.


Ans. The sun was rising in the east.
