Answer:
From Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh there is a time lag of two hours, but the watches show the same time it is because the time along the central meridian of India is (82degree 30 minutes) east passing through Mirzapur in U.P. is taken as the standard time for the whole country.

Answer:
Even though there is a huge time gap, India follows the IST (Indian Standard Time). That means that the time at a mean longitude (82.5° E) is taken as the time for the entire nation. If this was not there, there would be problems in TV shows and Railway timings, etc.
Extra : Did you know that India had 2 standard times before independence?
