The longitudinal gap between Arunachal

Pradesh and Gujarat is about 30°. Due to this, there

is time lag of about two hours between these states. ...

The Indian Standard Time is taken from the time of Standard Meridian of India and hence, the watches

show the same time in both the states.

The difference between the latitudes of Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat is approx 30°. We know 1° stands for 4 minutes, therefore, 30° is equal to 120 minutes, i.e., 2hours. That's why, the sun rises 2 hours earlier in Arunachal Pradesh as compared to Gujarat. However, inspite of this, the watches show same time at both places because there is a standard meridian of India which is called IST. It passes through Mirzapur and is adopted by all the people of India. Thus, different regions of India have the same time despite of their locations.
