Parliament is the ‘supreme law making in India’. It is the highest “legislative body of India”.

The Indian Parliament has three major components -

1) Lok Sabha (Council of States/Upper house)

2) Rajya Sabha (People's House/lower house)

3) President

The President addresses the ‘first session of the Lok Sabha’ and the first session every year (in ‘Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha’) after every ‘general election’.

Indian constitution is based on the method of the constitution of the UK. The members of parliament meet at Sansad Bhavan which is located at New Delhi.
