Answer:

surface area of cube = 6a²

=> 864 = 6a²

=> a² = 864/6 = 144

=> a = √144 = 12 cm

now,

volume of cube = side ³

= 12³

= 1728cm³

Given,\\ Surface \: area \: of \: cube = 864  \: {cm}^{2}  \\  =  > 6 {a}^{2}  = 864 \\  =  >  {a}^{2}  =  \frac{864}{6}  \\  =  >  {a}^{2}  = 144 \\  =  >a =  \sqrt{144}  \\  =  > a = 12 \:cm

So,\: Side \: of \: cube \: is \: 12cm \\\\ Volume \: of \: cube \\  =  {side}^{3}  \\  = {12}^{3}  \\  = 1728 \:  {cm}^{3}
