Answer:

surface area of sphere= 4πr²

4πr²=440

πr²=110

r²=35

r=√35

diameter=2r = 2√35 = 12(approx)

Given :

  • Surface Area of Sphere = 440 cm²

To Find :

  • Diameter of Sphere.

Solution :

Firstly we will find Radius :

Using Formula :

\longmapsto\tt\boxed{Surface\:Area\:of\:Sphere=4\pi{{r}^{2}}}

Putting Values :

\longmapsto\tt{440=4\times\dfrac{22}{7}\times{{r}^{2}}}

\longmapsto\tt{440\times{7}=88\times{{r}^{2}}}

\longmapsto\tt{3080=88{r}^{2}}

\longmapsto\tt{\cancel\dfrac{3080}{88}={r}^{2}}

\longmapsto\tt{r=\sqrt{35}}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{r=5.9cm}

Radius of Sphere is 5.9cm..

Now ,

As we know that Diameter is double of Radius .So ,

\longmapsto\tt{Diameter=2(r)}

\longmapsto\tt{2(5.9)}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{11.8cm}

So , The Diameter of the Sphere is 11.8 cm..
