= 4ah + 2a^2

DERIVATION :-

TSA = LSA + 2× AREA OF BASE

Where,

LSA = perimeter of base × height

here, base is square shaped so, perimeter of base is

P = 4× side = 4a

hence,

LSH = 4ah

TSA = LSA × 2 × area of base

since, base is square so...area of square = side^2 = a^2

Hence, we may write total surface area of prism as

TSA = 4ah + 2a^2
